Would you like to write and publish a book, but don’t know how to go about it?

Traditionally, writing a book was reserved for the lucky few who can get an agent and a publisher. Those people are often famous already, which is why you might see children’s books by Chris Hoy in your local Waterstones!

Today, if you have an idea for a book, nothing is stopping you from writing and publishing it.

The easiest way, but not the only way, is to use Amazon’s book publishing service. They offer both Kindle ebook and KDP paperback formats.

If you upload an Amazon Kindle ebook and/or KDP paperback, it will automatically be available for sale on Amazon. You can also order author copies and sell them yourself or give them away.

How Can I Help?

I have experience of writing and publishing books using the Amazon service.

Whether you want to publish an ebook or a paperback (or both), I can format your work and upload it to Amazon.

I can also do the cover design, or put the cover together using your artwork.

Experience

Skiing Made Easy paperback
Skiing Made Easy paperback

I’ve written and published a number of Kindle ebooks and paperbacks, including learn to ski guide Skiing Made Easy.

Whilst it will never challenge JK Rowling in the bestseller charts, it has sold a few hundred copies so far, and continues to sell more every Winter.

Charges and Contact

The charges would depend on the amount of work involved, which will vary a lot from one project to another.

In the first instance please get in touch and we can discuss your requirements.

Kindle Ebooks

How to Write a Kindle Ebook

Anyone can write and publish a Kindle ebook. Kindle is by far the most popular type of ebook.

The manuscript can be written using Microsoft Word, but it needs to be laid out in a particular format. Uploading it to Amazon also takes a certain amount of knowledge.

KDP Paperbacks

As well as ebooks, Amazon offers its Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) paperback service.

It produces top-quality paperback books. Print on demand means you don’t have to order and pay for a big print run.

In my experience paperbacks are more popular than ebooks, even though they tend to be more expensive.
